We went to Mission Point Lighthouse on our third day. What a beautiful landscape! Incredible day! I loved the serene water, the smell and the sound of the waves. I set up my easel in a shady (although poison ivy infested) area looking over the scattered rocks in the water.
My goal was to take my time sketching the scene to start, mixing and applying my colors and trying to achieve a peaceful sense of the view. I felt this painting was a much more successful attempt than my previous two day's efforts due to the time I spent sketching, mixing and also with my brush/palate knife strokes.
